Gold Hill Hotel

Jesse and I celebrated our 10th anniversary at the Gold Hill Hotel & Saloon in Gold Hill Nevada.  I planned months in advance to secure us one of the haunted rooms.  We stayed in room 4, the reputed home of Rosie.  She is famous for smelling strongly of cheap rose perfume.  While neither Jesse or I smelled her, we did have other unusual experiences during our stay.  After dinner we both headed to our room to enjoy a bottle of champaigne on the balcony.  As soon as we entered the room, we started snapping photos.

We never noticed what's in the picture until we got home.  Look close.

Later in the night, after the other hotel patrons quieted down, I woke to the bed shaking... Seeing that I had no desire to lose sleep on a night I don't have to get out of bed for crying children, I ignored the bed shaking.  Jesse slept through the shaking.  He did not sleep through Rosie slapping him in the face!  Shorty after the shaking, I heard Jesse breathing short breaths and woke him up.  He asked me who had slapped his face.  I told him he was dreaming, but he assured me that he did not dream the slap.  He started breathing heavy after he felt the smack.  What a night.  After that we both slept peacefully without another incident from Rosie.

We woke up early and headed out to find coffee.  As soon as we left our room, we both smelled the strong odor of smoke.  The hotel's other ghostly guest, William, smells strongly of tobacco.

What a great experience we had.  Celebrating a decade of marriage while entertaining our imagination with apparitions will leave us with fond memories for decades to come.
